Creative Collaboration Creates Uncommon Gift

Ever wonder what happens when a top-notch jewelry designer and an award-winning bath & body artisan work together?

The result is a unique jewelry piece that smells as beautiful as it looks.

“We are extremely pleased with how our perfume lockets have turned out,” said Ashley Holden, jewelry designer and owner of Bellaposa Collections.

“Ashley and I have looked for ways we could work together since we met a year ago. Perfume lockets seemed like a natural fit for us,” said Elizabeth Hill, owner of Handmade at Homestead.

Holden designed the necklaces and Hill formulated the solid perfumes that each locket will contain.

“The oval lockets are available in two designs now,” explained Holden, “one with a vintage floral design and the other with a delicate fleur de lis pattern around the perimeter.” Plans are underway to introduce additional designs.

The solid perfumes were created to be in keeping with the vintage style of the lockets.

“I’ve chosen soliflores, single-note floral fragrances, as they were very popular during the 19th century,” explained Hill. Initial fragrance offerings are rose, lavender, orange blossom and violet.

The Secret Garden Perfume Lockets will make their debut at this year’s Head 2 Toe-The Ultimate Day Out for Women, sponsored by 225 and InRegister magazines.

“We thought Head 2 Toe would be the perfect place to debut our collaborative project, the perfume lockets, as Ashley and I first met at the event last year,” said Hill. “We had adjoining booths and will again this year,” Holden added.

To purchase one of these unique necklaces, visit either business at Head 2 Toe, May 7th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 4728 Constitution Ave, Baton Rouge. Bellaposa Collections will be in booth 23 and Handmade at Homestead will be in booth 24.

Gearing Up For 2011!

Hope y’all had TOO MUCH fun over the holidays! I had a blast visiting with family and friends and eating, eating, eating (haha!). Brent and I recently bought a house and we are still in the process of moving in/unpacking. Although we didn’t get to decorate this year, it was still BEYOND nice to have a place of our own to come home to after all the hustle and bustle of traveling. I think the house is the highlight of 2010 for me and I simply can not wait to have it organized and have people over!

I’ve spent the last week reflecting on the past year and trying to “map out” 2011 for Bellaposa Collections. Last year was my inaugural year and it was great! But I’m looking to make 2011 even better! There will be a few changes and I hope you all will join me on the ride.

I will be offering more custom design services. I have had many inquiries for providing jewelry for weddings, Christmas/New Year’s parties, Mardi Gras events, and other special occasions. Custom jewerly can be anything from simply finding a piece you like on the website but wanting to change the color/type of beads…to having me create a totally new piece of jewelry just for you!

I will also be adding a new and exciting feature to the website soon. A “Wish List” that can be utilized for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, just about any occasion. It’s still in the first stages of development, but basically you will be able to give me your wish list of items and I will send an email to the recipient of your choice (boyfriend, husband, mom, friend, etc). This email will be focused on your wish list items and serve as a type of electronic hint for gift giving! As I mentioned earlier, I’m still working out all the details so please feel free to give me some feedback.

I have made an extremely invaluable friendship this past    year. Elizabeth Hill, of Handmade at Homestead, has been giving me  some much needed advice. We will be partnering up on some events later in the year. I will keep you updated as those come up, but please take the time to check out her website as she has some amazing products that I know you will fall in love with. I am looking to do more networking this year to bring y’all interesting news about some cool local peeps!

That’s all the news for now! For more info throughout the year, keep checking visiting the website. You can also check out my blog, follow Bellaposa on Twitter, or “like” the Facebook page.

Amies Boutique in Baton Rouge now has several Bellaposa pieces in stock! They also have a piece that is so new, it’s not even on the Bellaposa website yet! Amies has chosen to carry the Leslie Necklace, the Kathryn Necklace, and the Megan Necklace. See pictures below of all three. The last picture (courtesy of Amies Boutique) is of the Megan Necklace, visit Amies to be the very first to have this beautiful necklace!

The Leslie Necklace and the Megan Necklace both offer different ways to wear, giving you many options for your varying outfit choices. The Leslie Necklace can be worn with the satin bow tied to the side (a fun and flirty look) or to the back (a more sophisticated look). The Megan Necklace can be worn loosely wrapped (as shown in the picture) in a lariat style, or it can be worn wrapped around your neck (for a layered look).

Mixed Vintage

I am excited to announce a new addition to Bellaposa Collections, Mixed Vintage! This new line will be a combination of old and new. The pieces will have elements found in antique stores and flea markets, making them available in VERY limited quantities. The majority of them will be one of a kind.

The Anna Necklace is the first to be added to this new line. It has a crystal pendant reclaimed from an antique chandelier. Check it out, I know you will fall in love with it!
